VA Hospitals Visit


As part of our Muslims for Veterans campaign, AMYA youth will visit VA Hospitals & Centers across the country to meet our heroes. These special visits are made by the youth wing of AMYA (boys ages 7 thru 15) who will be taking gifts and their smiles to see our veterans.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), also known internationally by the name Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, which literally means “Association of Servants of the True Islam.” The international organization was founded in 1938 and serves as the young men and boys auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Officially established in the United States in 1939, AMYA is one of the earliest Muslim Youth organizations in the United States.

AMYA is a dynamic and vibrant association serving not only the needs of its members but of its local communities and nation. Previous members of AMYA include Grammy award-winning artists and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists. AMYA USA is headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Operating under the auspices of the international Khalifa (spiritual head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, AMYA is governed by a national executive council and led by a national President. The current President is Dr. Madeel Abdullah, an anesthesiologist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The executive councils comprise of young men and youth from across the United States.

The outreach activities of AMYA are not limited to the Muslim community. It serves the needs of all members of society irrespective of color, race, religion or creed and promotes interfaith dialogue and co-operation in order to promote peace and harmony.

Walk for Humanity

AMYA’s largest initiative is an annual drive consisting of a 5-mile walk. Launched in 2012, it has raised more than $150,000 to help fight hunger in America. The event is organized and run completely by unpaid youth volunteers.

Muslims for Life

Launched in 2011, this campaign aims to collect more than 10,000 bags of blood annually in honor of the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001. In general it underscores the sacredness and sanctity of life that all people value both Muslims and non Muslims.

Muslim Youth Against Hunger

AMYA’s latest initiative, which aims to fight hunger in America by helping to feed one million Americans who are in need.

Disaster Relief

In Partnership with Humanity First International, AMYA has volunteered several hundred thousands of hours to assist families and businesses impacted by natural disasters all over the world.
